| | cheerful | ] | I started keeping mice, and it has been an interesting experience so far. I brought two home yesterday. One (named Jane Eyre) slipped out between the bars of the cage and is lost somewhere in my duplex. Today I got a replacement mouse (Lucy) for the remaining one (Emma). They're so cute!!! I've been keeping them in a carrier for small animals, which is plenty of space to keep them in for a couple of days until I fortify their big cage. I haven't forgotten about my ratties though. Playing with mice has made me understand my rats a bit more, so I walked around talking on the phone with Raoul walking around on my shoulders. Also, Archie's really into coming to the cage door to welcome me (and get treats) whenever I come by the cage. |

Today I found myself with a whole afternoon of nothing to do. I think I might bundle up and go for a walk. I tried watching Practical Magic, and it struck me as being the typical late-90s movie: cutesy and fun to look at but but not very deep or engaging. I'd rather find a bit of practical magic in my everyday life, thank you. |

| | intergalactic caravan | ] | Last night I got to play around with my belly dance instructor's sword. Yeah, you got that right. She has a gold-colored sword with all sorts of engravings on it. I actually managed to dance around while balancing it on my head, and I even got it to balance on my hip. I need to get my hands on a sword of my own. My first belly dance outfit project is to sew buttons all over a black bra so it'll be something I can be seen in public wearing. |

| | chipper | ] | Hi everyone. I've never used a livejournal before, so this is pretty exciting. I'm going back to Kent from Findlay today with two rats and a zillion plants and an abandoned rail-crossing sign that I found on the side of the road in Kansas. It should be an interesting trip. |
